About the artist

"I interpret classical forms in a contemporary application with a technical and creative implementation"

To master a geometry, to analyse and dissect it in order to form new volumes and obtain unusual shapes for established applications is the goal that Lidia Marti strives for.
She interprets classical forms for a contemporary application with a technical and creative realization. She questions the limits of the material by constructing new combinations to the limits of the plastic possibilities of the materials used.

Lidia Marti

All her works are entirely and exclusively handmade to give each object a unique and unrepeatable quality. Her creations are forms in motion that glide into three-dimensional space, but also containers, luminous objects and furnishing accessories.

Her luminous sculptures belong to a series of lamps in which the ceramic form is brought into relation and combination with already existing forms. She often finds inspiration, for example, at markets with old things and objects. They remind her of her unique past life and give her the inspiration for new forms and places.

Vase Monofiore

The vase is made of ceramic with the ancient technique of the wheel, designed in two parts to facilitate the maintenance, it is intended for long-stemmed flowers. By inserting steel wire segments between the ceramic parts, I break down the volume into solids and voids, which gives it extreme lightness. The ceramic and the steel are fired together at a temperature of 980 degrees.
