Vanessa van Meerhaeghe is a painter based in Brussels. She has a professional background in fashion design and illustration, her work is still strongly influenced by contemporary fashion designers and art. Her style is elegant and colourful, she loves to work with bold patterns. Inspired by running tracks and hikes, nature plays an important role in her paintings and watercolour drawings

Vanessa Van Meerhaeghe is a Belgian painter and draughtswoman who has exhibited in Hasselt. Her work is influenced by fashion icons, patterns and nature, taking her subjects out of context and placing them in a colourful environment. Van Meerhaeghe's illustrative style captures alienated landscapes and conveys a bizarre sense of deja vu. While her techniques vary, she often begins a piece by drawing and adding watercolours on paper. When she likes the result, she transfers the concept to canvas using acrylic.
Although her techniques can vary, she mainly works with acrylic colours.
Vanessa studied fashion design at the Academy of Ghent and has been active in the Belgian fashion world as a designer for many years. In addition to her work as a designer, she has also worked as an illustrator for various magazines.
Today Vanessa devotes herself entirely to her artistic work and takes on commercial projects.
