About the artist
I am fascinated by colour, texture, changes and distortions
Melinda is a London-based painter who completed her academic training in painting at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Essentially, Melinda combines the thematic depth of the human condition with an expressive and defragmented visual language. The result is a style of art that captures the complexity of emotion through a dynamic interplay of form, colour and fragmented realism.

At the centre of Melinda's artistic vision is the exploration of Analytical Psychology, a field that drives her to investigate the multiple sources of meaning in the lives of individuals. Her work explores the intricacies of human relationships and existential angst, offering a personal exploration of the human experience.
In her artistic expression, Melinda places great emphasis on the interplay of colour, texture and the deliberate deconstruction of form. The deliberate disruption of her motifs through fragmentation allows her to create a balance between figuration and abstraction in her compositions.
In her creative process, colour and texture are just as important as the deconstruction of forms, which enables her to find a balance between figuration and abstraction. Although she considers herself a figurative painter, the dynamism she creates by breaking up the forms often makes her works appear abstract when viewed up close.
