There is something very special about the drawings of artist Marie-Paule Olinger. Light and minimalistic or also impulsive and with a lot of ductus power, Marie-Paule Olinger transposed the music of the cellist Anastasia Kobekina in a concert hall in Hamburg onto paper. This resulted in impressive works in which the line, the form and the movement of the brush are in the foreground.
Her drawings are sensitive and at the same time charming and live from the translated power of the music.

Marie-Paule Olinger, a freelance artist, studied in Lausanne and later in London at Morley College under the British artist Maggy Hambling. During this time she lived and worked in London and many of her works were shown in solo and group exhibitions in the metropolis.
Her works are in public and private collections.

The appeal of these "Cello Drawings" is not only that they were largely created as a project in a concert hall in Hamburg to the music of cellist Anastasia Kobekina, but also that Marie-Paule Olinger has captured the music so emphatically and unmistakably in her works. Delicate, almost fragile, as well as minimalist or also impulsive and with a lot of ductus power, she captures the notes and captures them on paper. In this collaboration between the two artists, impressive works have emerged in which the line, the form and the movement of the brush are in the foreground. The drawings are sensitive and at the same time engaging and live from the translated power of the music.

"At the beginning of the Corona pandemic, I immersed myself in the world of novels, films and poetry. I escaped the lockdown with long walks, accompanied by my dog, roaming through forests, along meadows and fields.
Inspired by the power of the trees and the lightness of the grasses and flowers that moved gently with the wind, I countered the pandemic with filigree brushstrokes, movement, colour and joie de vivre".
And so, sheet by sheet, the series "Dance of the Line" came into being.
