Isabelle Derecque is an artist living in Belgium whose paintings have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. The decision to work with mirrors is not only a question of aesthetics, but an invitation to look at the space around us.

The path of Isabelle Derecque (1984) begins at the School of Advertising and Design in Brussels. Strengthened by experience and travel, especially in London, where she spent several months after studying interior architecture and design, she developed a sensitivity to light and gold leaf, the characteristic materials of her work. The decision to work with mirrors is not just a question of aesthetics, but an invitation to look at the spaces that surround us, to put ourselves in the right light and create our own stage. Pigments, lines of black and white vinyl or scalpel etchings and spray paintings reflect a rigorous mindset. Above all, Isabelle tells a poetic story from an architectural point of view visualised through geometry, perspectives, contrasts and reflections.
These cheerful and energetic colours reassure us on this unknown journey. Change and evolution are essential to his artistic expression. Since the beginning of 2022, twenty paintings from the "Sunshine Pop!" series are in the collection of the newly opened Deji Museum of Contemporary Art in Nanjing, China.
